Anyone with a weak spot for tequila would have enjoyed South Street Seaport today. Jenny McCarthy, working with Jose Cuervo, whipped up 2000 gallons of margeritas in a giant blender for the passing crowd. She worked enthusiastically and stayed for several hours. Usually celebs just drive by their endorsements, but Jenny certainly wanted everyone to have a good time. Very considerate of her, and a rare quality.
The Muppets have released their rendition of the Wizard of Oz. I haven’t seen it, but I’m sure it’s fun. Who out there can’t recall the words to “Rainbow Connection” which opened the first Muppet movie? I’ve got to see if they have that on iTunes.

Thora Birch is now blond and very skinny. Who wouldn’t be if they had a chance? Her latest film is “Slingshot” with David Arquette, Julianna Margulies, Balthazar Getty and Katie Chonacas aka Miss Michigan Teen Motor City. The movie premiered as part of the Tribeca Film Festival.
In a last minute rush, I was able to cross town to take up position for a rumored Angelina Jolie photo op before she entered the New School. The New School is the location of the auditorium where Bravo tapes “Inside The Actors Studio”. This program often attracts top rung talent, but the odds of making a good photo there are terrible. This time though, the school seemed to be setting up an op before the show, so everyone rushed over there. Police barricades were in place, and numerous, but very cooperative, security personnel were keeping the crowd in check.
Jeff Goldblum appeared for the premiere of “Special Thanks To Roy London.” He’s a completely genial fellow, almost eerily relaxed on the carpet. I told him he had a great “evil genius”-looking leather jacket on. I thought with his numerous “genius” roles (The Fly, Independence Day, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, etc.) he would appreciate it, but it just made him a little bashful. He said it was the only coat he had that would fit over his suit.
Felicity Huffman of “Desperate Housewives” stars in “Transamerica,” a story of transexual who long ago fathered a now wayward son. A good popcorn movie, it appears.
She said her husband, William H. Macy, picked out her outfit.
Ms. Banks looks pretty good for a magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. A good argument to stay in school.
Hey, who knew. Stephen Colbert from Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” has branched out into film. The premiere of Great New Wonderful took place at the festival tonight in which he appears with Maggie Gyllenhaal. His next film is “Bewitched” in which Nicole Kidman stars.
Lindsay Fridmodt was delighted to work the red carpet for Rosanna Arquette’s new film “All We Are Saying.”
Mariah has been hammering New York lately to make sure that everyone knows about her latest CD, the Emancipation of Mimi.
